Changes to BASIS Exams
22nd June 2021: BASIS has announced some changes to the way they administer exams which have come about after a review of how they have adapted throughout the pandemic.
As there has not been any notable difference to pass rates when delivering online exams, they are keen to embrace the flexibility running online exams gives moving forward.
How does this affect Fieldfare? We will be in touch soon with anyone due to sit an exam with us this Autumn to discuss the proposed plan of action.
From now on, BASIS Soil & Water will run the written exam online at a date of our choosing up to two weeks before the viva element. This will be a set date and time for all participants and will take place on the date advertised upon booking. You can complete the written (online) exam anywhere you like (i.e. home, office, etc.) as you will not be expected to take that onsite with us. The viva element will be face-to-face at our venue and have the usual two parts: an in-field soil pit discussion and then a classroom based viva.
FACTS exams will now be entirely online. The written element will be on day 1 and the viva will take place the following day. These will take place at a venue of your choosing (i.e. home, office, etc.), so you will not need to be onsite with us. Our revision/mock days will move online to limit the requirement to travel.
We have successfully run courses which incorporate the online style of exam so we are sure that these permanent changes will not negatively impact your experience when sitting them.
