Environment and Soils Training
Two Day Course Outline
Day 1 of this course explores the key environmental issues and environmental regulations that impact upon agriculture. Topics covered will include: climate change, diffuse and point source pollution, phosphate and the water framework directive, nitrates and the NVZ Regulations and The Code of Good Agricultural Practice.
Day 2 explores soils. The day will focus on identifying different soil types and their properties. This will include a practical session on soil texturing. The importance of soil structure will be discussed and delegates will explore soil structure in the field by examining soil profile pits.
This course will be of interest to those preparing for FACTS exams, farmers, environmental advisors and those involved in the waste-to-land sectors.
