FACTS Content & Suitability
FACTS is designed to achieve a high standard of soil and crop nutrient advice with a responsible attitude to the environment and safety.
It ensures candidates have the confidence and experience to provide advice in practical situations on the farm.
FACTS is an important qualification for all those involved in giving nutrient advice. For information we offer the England/Wales FACTS content (RB209) not the Scotland syllabus (SRUC Technical Notes).
Various farm assurance and environmental schemes demand that farm nutrient management plans are drawn up by FACTS qualified people.
This suits agronomists, consultants, sales representatives, farmers, environmental advisers and those involved with non-farm wastes being spread on the land.
Note: candidates are required to have considerable previous experience of fertiliser plans on farm so that they are familiar with a wide range of different farming activities, fertilisers and nutrient issues. Candidates should have a working knowledge of RB209 prior to sitting this course otherwise they risk falling behind with the content – we can provide training for this so ask us how we can help. BASIS expect a certain level of competence ahead of FACTS training therefore if you are unsure about your suitability, ask us and we will be happy to provide guidance. Pass marks for the exam affect Fieldfare’s accreditation as a trainer so we reserve the right to hold you back from examination should you be not prepared or at the required standard after training.
£748 (+ VAT) + £253 BASIS exam fee.
(includes course materials, lunch and refreshments throughout)
There is a 1% training fee discount per person when booking 2+ places (for groups of 5 or more contact the office for discount information)
Candidates will need to provide their own copy of RB209 (AHDB version), Code of Good Agricultural Practice and NVZ Guidelines.
